Dawn’s Light Records: Hermodric Stone

   Initially referred to as Thelian Obsidian, hermodric stone is named after Jeffery Hermod, a geologist from the Thelian Dawn who first noticed and attempted to study the energy-influencing properties of the black, glassy stone. Hermodric stone can be found throughout the world as small flakes and shards in the soil. Larger specimens can measure nearly five centimeters, though most samples are less than half that size. Devotion

   She never intended to let herself get attached to anyone. It wasn’t that she was cold or aloof — she enjoyed socializing and counted a number of her associates as friends. But deep attachments to other people were, quite simply, impractical. Arete had no desire to pass on her bloodline or heritage. She had no desire to reproduce, no mothering instinct demanding to be fulfilled. She was content to let her legacy be one of deeds and achievements. She was happy to fully devote her life to her duty. She credited that devotion to duty for leading to this moment. Continue reading

Findalaran’s Journal: Homecoming

   The songs of Tarros will lead me home, and I count on the journey being shorter than when we made our way here. But the journey will still be long, and traveling swiftly will require great focus. My mission cannot wait, though, and so I ended my seclusion earlier than I would have preferred. The sooner I return to Tarros, the sooner I can return with assistance to stop the Alfath, and the sooner we may all return home. Continue reading

Ken and Rett: Decisions, Decisions

   There was a slight chill in the nighttime air as the two teens walked out the doors of Lyceum Arion and began to run along one of the illuminated paths. As they rounded the corner by the Tower of Water, though, they left the path and quickly sprinted between darkened gardens and exercise fields towards the high stone walls that enclosed the training areas.
