   The journey has been far longer than any of us anticipated, and it is a worry that the Alfath show no signs of slowing. They should not have been able to last this long on their broken magics. There is some concern amongst my people that our magics will be depleted before the Alfath finally settle, but none waver in our commitment. Now, away from Tarros, I feel more keenly the burden of command. Ninety-eight souls look to me for direction. Ninety-eight souls entrusted to my leadership. Report: Discovery of the Trimbolen Temple and Trimbolen Crown

   In 2830 an expedition led by Jason Hitouri set out from the Trimbolen Research Center in an attempt to be the first manned expedition to the northern tip of the Trimbolen Peninsula. Team members spent three years preparing for the attempt, studying past attempts and developing new equipment to better their odds of surviving in the harsh climate. The mission was almost successful — it is estimated that they were within 16 kilometers of their goal when a sudden squall forced them to seek emergency shelter in a cave. This cave turned out to be the entrance to an ancient Thelian temple. Continue reading

Ken and Rett: Control

   Laughter rung on the early evening air. Two boys faced off against one another, and a bright blue balloon drifted on the air between them. A light blue glow formed around Rett’s hand and a sudden breeze sent the balloon dancing across the field towards a basket  Ken was guarding. Reacting on instinct, Ken raised both hands and a jet of water shot from the ground, knocking the balloon away from the goal. Continue reading

Two Records

   Kit Elstock had already wrapped up everything on her schedule for the day, but the evening would bring a round of social obligations that came with being head of the Archeology Department.  She believed this time it was a reception at an art gallery intended to woo potential corporate donors. But while the status and pay of being highly placed in the Athae Academy meant she had a comfortable life, Kit missed the actual work — the exploration and discovery – of archeology.  And so instead of heading home to  freshen up and change into a fancy gown and thoroughly impractical high heels, she remained at her desk examining two incredibly rare samples of pre-human text.
